Fire injures five in Ballymurphy house blaze

A suspected arson attack on a house in west Belfast has injured five people.

Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at the house in Whitecliff Parade in the Ballymurphy area at around 1.30am.

Four women were treated for the effects of smoke inhalation while a fifth person suffered leg injuries after jumping from a first floor window.

Police are investigating the incident, which is believe to be a suspected arson attack, and have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.

There have been a number of petrol bomb attacks in the area over the past month.

Suspected Arson Attack In Belfast
An investigation has been launched into a suspected arson attack in south Belfast. Shortly before 3.30am on Friday, a car was set on fire in the Malone Avenue area of the city. The blaze spread to a house nearby, causing damage to the ground floor window of the property. Police have said they believe the fire was started deliberately.

House Destroyed In Suspected Arson Attack
Police are investigating a suspected arson attack which destroyed one house and damaged another in Newtownabbey over the weekend. The blaze in the Birchmount area was reported to police at around 2pm on Saturday 13 April.

PSNI Appeal For Information After Cars Set Alight In North Belfast
The PSNI have appealed for information after four cars were set alight in north Belfast. Police say the suspected arson attack happened at around 22:30 on Tuesday night on the Whitewell Road. It is understood no one was injured in the incidents.
