Judge denies application to revoke Shoukri bail

A police application to have Ihab Shoukri's bail revoked has been rejected at Belfast Crown Court.

Judge Tom Burgess said that there was no evidence before him which suggested that the 32-year-old had broken bail conditions.

Mr Shoukri was arrested when police raided a Belfast bar on the York Road last week.

Denying the police application to revoke bail the Judge said that Mr Shoukri had not contravened conditions banning him from certain parts of Belfast nor broken his curfew.

Mr Shoukri, who is on bail awaiting trial, has previously denied membership of the UDA and UFF.

Police raided Alexanders Bar in Tiger's Bay alleging that a meeting of loyalist paramilitaries was in progress as a show of strength.
