Three arrested in connection with Carrickfergus murder
Three men have been arrested for questioning in connection with the murder of a man in Carrickfergus at the weekend.
Thomas Hollran, 49, was found with serious injuries in an alleyway at around 10pm on Saturday and was taken to hospital where he later died from his injuries.
It is understood that he was beaten to death on Saturday evening after returning to the town to visit a family member. He had been ordered to leave Carrickfergus last year following a dispute with loyalist paramilitaries.
Detectives have confirmed that paramilitaries may have been involved in the killing.
Police believe that Mr Hollran travelled by train from Belfast to Clipperstown station in Carrickfergus at around 9.25pm.

A fourth man has been arrested in connection with the murder of 49-year-old Thomas Hollran in Carrickfergus at the weekend. Yesterday, police in the town arrested three other men, and a number of searches were carried out in the area.

Appeal to find Thomas Hollran killers re-launched
Police in Carrickfergus have re-launched their appeal to find those responsible for the murder of a man in the town in February. They have also urged the people of the town to stop protecting the loyalist paramilitaries who are believed to be connected to the killing .

Two charged with intimidation of murder victim
Two men have been charged with the intimidation of murder victim Thomas Hollran, who was forced to leave his Carrickfergus home in December last year. Mr Hollran, 49, died in hospital on Sunday afternoon, after being assaulted in the town on Saturday night.

Police launch investigation into Carrickfergus murder
Police in Carrickfergus have launched a murder investigation after a man died as the result of an attack in the town at the weekend. Local man 49-year-old Thomas Hollran was discovered in an alleyway between Cherry Walk and Woodburn Avenue at around 10pm on Saturday.

Simon Tang: Second Murder Charge Withdrawn
A second murder charge over the killing of Chinese restaurateur Simon Tang in 1996 has been withdrawn. Belfast Magistrates' Court has heard the case against Paul Allen will not proceed. Mr Allen, 39, of Drumhoy Drive, Carrickfergus, faced charges over the murder of Simon Tang. Mr Tang was a married father of two.
