Police revisit scene of Ballymena sexual assault

Police in County Antrim have revisited the scene of a serious sexual assault on a man, which happened last week in Ballymena.

The 20-year-old victim was out jogging on the Broughshane Road, close to Ballymena rugby club on February 9, when he was dragged into the back of a white van and assaulted by two men.

Last night, police returned to the scene of the rape and stopped cars and passers-by, showing them a photo-fit of one of the men they believe to be connected with the assault.

The man is described as around 40-years-old, 6' 1" in height and of heavy build.

He also has a long, fleshy face with a pale, clear complexion and was wearing a camouflage style hat.

He was travelling in a white Transit style van with a ladder on the roof and a registration number beginning MKZ or NKZ.

Police have said that they have already had a good response from the public, but have appealed for anyone with any information they feel may be relevant to tracking down the perpetrators, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or on the Crimestoppers number 0800 555 111.
