Health and Safety Executive to investigate saw mill death
A safety investigation is to be held following the death of a forklift truck driver at a sawmill in County Fermanagh.
The 54-year-old forklift driver, named as John McNeelagh from Dromore, died as a result of an accident, which happened as he was loading a trailer at the Balcas plant near Enniskillen last night.
The Health and Safety Executive are to launch an investigation to determine why the accident happened.

North-South Fire Safety Week launched
A joint north-south Fire Safety Week has been launched today by the Northern Ireland Fire Brigade and the Republic of Ireland’s National Safety Council. ‘Fire, Our Community at Risk’ aims to raise public awareness of fire safety issues, and in particular, the higher risk to the very young and elderly people living alone.

Cross border initiative to tackle deaths in construction
A North-South initiative to tackle the serious problem of fatal accidents in the construction sector has been launched today. The initiative follows the release of figures which revealed that 220 workers have been killed in last 10 years across the island of Ireland.

Two People Killed In Offaly Plane Crash Named
Two people killed in a plane crash in Co Offaly have been named as pilot Niall Bowditch and seven year old Kacper Kacprzak. Mr Bowditch was believed to be in his 40s, and from Staffordshire, England. It is thought Kacper was the son of a Polish national living in Dublin. The plane took off from Clonbullogue Airfield on Sunday, 13 May.
