Man injured in bus stabbing incident

Detectives in South Belfast have appealed for information following a stabbing incident on a bus at around 5.30 pm yesterday.

The man, who was travelling from Larne to the Europa bus station in Belfast, suffered minor cuts to his hands.

A disturbance is believed to have broken out between the man and a woman who was also a passenger on the bus just before the stabbing took place.

The woman has been described as around 5' 6" in height, with dark hair, and a circular tattoo on her left shoulder.

Police are particularly keen to speak to the woman involved and have appealed for anyone with any information, which may be of use to the investigation, to contact them at Lisburn Road station on 0845 600 8000, or on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.
