Two injured in overnight attacks
A youth has been shot in both legs in East Belfast in what is believed to be a paramilitary style attack.
Confronted by five men on the Beersbridge Road, he was taken to an alleyway off Grove Street where he was shot in both calves.
He was later taken to hospital.
Meanwhile in Coleraine, a man was assaulted during a robbery at a fast food restaurant at the Riverside Business Park.
He was standing outside at around 8.50pm, when three masked men approached him and held a knife to his back. Taken to a changing room in the premises, he was forced to lie on the floor while one of the men proceeded to kick him in the ribs.
The two other men, one armed with a metal bar, then approached a female member of staff and demanded that she empty a till.
She threw it on a table and managed to escape and raise the alarm.
The robbers were described as being between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall and were all wearing makeshift masks, blue jeans and dark coats.
Police have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed either incident to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.
