Police appeal to find cash machine robbers

Detectives have appealed for information following a robbery in the Nutt's Corner area of Crumlin at around 7am this morning.

A cash van crew were making a delivery to a cash machine in a petrol station on the Tully Road when a man carrying a hammer approached one of the men.

The robber, who was wearing a balaclava, made off with the cash box, and escaped in a silver Renault Laguna, which was being driven by another man.

The thief is described as being approximately 5' 7" in height, and was wearing a white zip up tracksuit top, blue jeans and trainers.

Anyone who may have witnessed anything is asked to contact police in Antrim on 0845 600 8000, or on the Crimestoppers number 0800 555 111.

Industry urges NI to ‘play safe’ with cash cards
Cash machine users were today advised to keep playing safe when making cash withdrawals, despite fraudulent cash withdrawals in Northern Ireland falling by 8% to £368,000 over the past year. However, despite a fall in Northern Ireland figures the rest of the UK saw an average rise of 85% in fraudulent cash withdrawals over the same period.

Hooded gunman robs ATM cash delivery
Police in south Belfast are appealing for information following an armed robbery at an ATM machine on the Stranmillis Road on Tuesday. Shortly before 2pm, cash delivery drivers were re-filling the machine when a hooded man armed with a handgun approached them.

Man Dies After Being Hit By Van In Larne
A man has died after being hit by a van in Larne. The man was withdrawing money from a cash machine on Main Street when the collision happened just before 8.25am on Wednesday, 22 February. A blue coloured Vauxhall Vivaro van which was parked on the street is believed to have rolled back and struck him.

Co Armagh Man Jailed After Cash Stashed Over Home
A County Armagh man has been jailed after HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) found tens of thousands of pounds hidden in all different parts of his home. Neil Fearon, 30, received a six month prison sentence after €138,505 and £35,420, as well as a cash counting machine, was found during the search of a property in Silverbridge in April 2014.

Security guard robbed by knifepoint
Detectives in north Belfast have appealed for information following the robbery of a cash and transit vehicle earlier today. Police have said that the security guard was making a delivery to premises on York Road, close to the junction with Midland close, just before 10.30am, when he was approached by a man armed with a knife.
