Failed robbery attempt in West Belfast

Police have appealed for witnesses following an attempted robbery in West Belfast.

A youth armed with a knife confronted a man in the car park of a leisure centre on the Andersonstown Road at around 5pm yesterday evening.

The youth demanded money but made off in a car when he was refused.

The car has been described as grey in colour and possibly a Toyota.

Meanwhile, armed robbers have threatened two teenage employees at a service station in Lisburn.

Two masked men, one armed with a handgun, demanded cash from staff at the business on the Carryduff Road at around 8.20pm.

The thieves stole a sum of money before escaping in a waiting car in the direction of Ballynahinch.

Police have appealed for anyone with information on either incident, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Two Armed Men Rob Shop In West Belfast
Two armed men wearing Halloween masks have robbed a shop in west Belfast. The incident happened in the Shankill Road area just before 10am on Saturday, 06 October. The men, armed with hammers, demanded money and then fled the premises. Staff were left badly shaken, however there were no injuries.

L'Derry Shop Targeted In Armed Robbery
Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager robbed a newsagents in L'Derry while armed with a butcher's knife. The incident was reported shortly after 10.20am on Sunday 17 February. A business in Blucher Street was targeted. The culprit demanded money from the till before fleeing the scene with a sum of cash.

Armed Robbery In Cabragh
Police are investigating reports of an armed robbery at a filling station in Cabragh. At around 10.30pm on Thursday, 18 June, three masked men – one of whom is said to have been armed with a fire arm – approached a female member of staff at the premises on the Ballygawley Road.

Investigation Launched Following Post Office Robbery In Co Antrim
Police have launched an investigation after a post office was robbed in Co Antrim. A man, armed with a gun, demanded money from the owner of Aghalee Post Office at around 9.30pm on Tuesday, 20 September. The suspect made off in a silver Nissan Almera which was found burnt out in Shankill Street in Lurgan.
