Security alert in Armagh

Police have cordoned off a section of Armagh City Centre due to a security alert.

Army bomb experts are examining a suspect vehicle in the Friary Road area, and the Armagh City Hotel has been sealed off.

This followed another alert this morning in North Belfast, when a suspicious device was found on the Cavehill Road.

Police said that Army techical experts had carried out a controlled explosion on pipe-bomb type device left outside a pub. A number of items have been removed for forensic examination.

The road, which was closed off during the alert, has been re-opened.

Roads Closed In Craigavon Security Alert
Army bomb experts are examining a suspicious object at Monbrief Road East in Craigavon. A number of roads have been closed in County Armagh due to the security alert. The New Line in Craigavon is closed from the Tandragee Road junction to Glenavon Lane and the Monbrief Road East from Roundabout B to Drumgask Road is also closed.

Security Alert In L'Derry
A suspicious object has been discovered on the outskirts of L'Derry. The object was found in a laneway off the Drunahoe Road. Police and army bomb experts are at the scene. The Drumahoe Road has been closed at its junctions with the Fincairn Road and Church Road.

Viable Device Found In Co Tyrone
A viable device has been found following a security alert near Strabane, County Tyrone. A device was found on Ballyheather Road on Tuesday. The road has now been re-opened between the junctions of the Lisdivin Road and Clogher Road. Police and army bomb experts attended the scene.
