Two women assaulted in Bangor robbery

Two women in their twenties have been assaulted during a robbery in Bangor.

Police said that two men entered the off-licence on the Rathgael Road area of the town and struck one woman in the face and pushed the other into a wall.

The men then fled in a waiting car taking with them an undisclosed sum of money and a quantity of alcohol.

The PSNI stopped a car some time later and arrested five men who are believed to be in connection with attack.

Appeal For Information On Aggravated Burglary In Cookstown
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a report of an aggravated burglary at the Queens Avenue area of Cookstown on Friday 3rd February. Shortly after 10pm, it was reported that four masked men entered a property in the area with one of the men armed with an iron bar and another man armed with a suspected firearm.

Two Men Attacked With Baseball Bats In Co Antrim
Two 18-year-old men have been attacked with baseball bats in Whitehead, Co Antrim. The victims were closing premises in the Balmoral Avenue area at around 8.30pm on Tuesday, 04 October when three men assaulted them. Both men were treated in hospital for their injuries. One has been discharged, and the other remains in hospital.

Investigation Launched Following Attempted Robbery In Belfast
Police have launched an investigation after employees at a takeaway restaurant in Belfast were threatened with a hammer. The incident happened at premises on the Shankill Road shortly after 11pm on Tuesday, 07 March. A number of masked men armed with a hammer threatened staff and demanded them to open the till.

Three Arrested Over Machete Robbery
A man has robbed a cash in transit van with a machette in north Belfast. It happened on the Old Park Road at about lunchtime on Monday. Three men aged 24, 44, and 51 have been arrested. A sum of money has been recovered.

Elderly Attack Slammed
Local condemnation has followed the attack of an elderly woman in her own home in Co Armagh. Speaking after the victim - who is in her 80s - was robbed in her home in Keady, the Newry and Armagh Sinn Féin MLA Cathal Boylan, (pictured) said: "Three men entered the home of an elderly lady in Keady and physically abused her.
