Hotel development at Junction One promises jobs
The recent granting of planning permission for a multi-million pound hotel development near the Junction One retail site in Antrim promises to create hundreds of jobs in the area.
A US hotel franchise chain is understood to be behind the development plans for a 100-bedroom hotel on the site between Antrim and Ballymena.
The major hotel complex, featuring accommodation, restaurant, conference and a fitness suite, is also expected to create hundreds of jobs during the construction phase.
However, it emerged that the Planning Service has rejected planning permission for a Chemist outlet in Antrim.
Planners rejected the application on the grounds that "recreational space" adjacent to the Antrim Cineplex would be lost.
