Armed men rob security guard
Detectives in Newtownabbey are appealing for information following an armed robbery on Monday.
Shortly after 2pm, two men approached a security guard in the Mill Road area, threatened him with a handgun, and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. It is believed that the robbers may have fled on foot in the direction of the nearby Bawnmore Estate.
One of the assailants has been described as being in his thirties, around 6’ tall, with dark hair. He was wearing a grey and beige coloured fleece and light coloured trousers and baseball cap.
Detectives also believe that the culprits may have used a green coloured Rover 800 car prior to the incident and are keen to talk to anyone who may have seen a similar car acting suspiciously in the area before 2pm.

Police appeal over stolen drugs
Police have re-issued a warning to the public and are appealing for information regarding the theft of a range of prescription drugs. The incident occurred at around 2pm yesterday on Sorella Street, west Belfast. The window of the Citreon car was smashed and liquid forms of tramadol, diamorphine and adrenaline were stolen.

Woman dies in Co Londonderry road collision
A woman has died in a road accident in Co Londonderry – the third such death in the county in the past 24 hours. At around 2pm today, a Citroen car and a Toyota jeep were in collision on the Magheramason Road – the main route between Strabane and Londonderry.

19-year-old charged over Derry road death
A 19-year-old man charged with causing the death of a pensioner in County Londonderry by dangerous driving, has been released on bail. Margaret Chivers, 85, from Drumsurn Road in Limavady, died after a the car in which she was travelling was in collision with another vehicle on the Cam Road near Macosquin at around 2pm yesterday.

Security guard threatened during robbery
Police are appealing for information following a robbery in north Belfast on Monday. The incident, which occurred on the Crumlin Road at around 2pm, saw a man threaten a Securicor guard before making off with a substantial sum of money in a car, which was seen heading towards Belfast city centre. No one was injured during the incident.

Police investigate two house burglaries in South Belfast
Four men have robbed two elderly women in their South Belfast home. The gang of four, two armed with large screwdrivers, forced their way into the sister's home at Diamond Gardens, Finaghy at around 6.30pm on Wednesday evening.
