Girl escapes attempted abduction in Co Down
A 12-year-old girl escaped an abduction attempt in Co Down on Wednesday.
The girls was walking along the Newcastle Road, Castlewellan, at 4.30pm, when she approached by a man who attempted to grab her arm and pull her towards him.
However, she was able to struggle free from the clutches of the man and alert police.
The man is described as being about six feet tall, with short black hair and was wearing dark blue jeans, brown boots and a black hooded top.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact police in Newcastle on 0845 6008000.

Police appeal after attempted abduction of teenager
Police are appealing for information after a man attempted to abduct a teenager in east Belfast last night. The 16-year-old girl was walking alone along Glenview Road at around 10.20pm last night when she became aware of a red car following her. The driver of the car stopped and ordered the girl to get in, but she was able to run away.

Teenage girl sexually assaulted
A 15-year-old girl has been sexually assaulted in Co Armagh early this morning. The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was walking in the Lakeland area of Craigavon when a man grabbed her from behind. The man tried to remove her clothes however she managed to break free and ran for help.

Attempted abduction in Lisburn investigated by police
Police are appealing for information following an attempted abduction in Lisburn yesterday evening. A man, described as being in is mid 30's, attempted to get two 14-year-old boys into his car, in the Montgomery Drive area of the city just before 7pm. The man had a brief conversation with the teenagers, before ordering them into his car.

Attempted abduction in County Down
Police in County Down have appealed for information following the attempted abduction of a 10-year-old girl yesterday evening. The incident happened in the Hill Street area of Ardglass at around 8pm, when a man in a small white coloured five-door car, stopped beside the child and offered her a lift.

Attempted Armed Robbery In Belfast
A masked man has attempted to rob a business in west Belfast. The incident happened in the Carrigart Avenue area, located off the Glen Road in the west of the city, at around 7.30pm on Wednesday (11 February). Police have said the man was dressed in black and wearing latex gloves.
