Local IT company raises £20k for neonatal unit

Consilium Technologies, a leading supplier of IT solutions for Local Government, has raised more than £20,000 in aid of the Neonatal Unit of the Royal Maternity Hospital in Belfast.

The Neonatal Unit provides intensive and high dependency care to 600 babies per year, ranging from very premature to full term babies.

This year marked Consilium Technologies 20th year in business and to celebrate this significant milestone the company pledged to raise £20,000 in aid of the charity.

The main focus of the fundraising activities was the Ctechs Xtreme Bowling Xtravaganza held at the Dundonald International Icebowl which was attended by a wide range of local authority customers from across the UK as well as partners such as BT Global Services, HSBC Bank, Lagan Technologies and Contract Cars.

Senior Midwife Patricia Mills, Royal Maternity Hospital, who accepted the cheque on behalf of the Neonatal Unit commented: “One in eight babies is born premature and sick and as a service Neonatal Units are often under pressure. Contributions like these are vitally important to us and we would like to thank Consilium Technologies for their commendable efforts."

Commenting on the success of the charity appeal, Colin Reid, Chief Executive, Consilium Technologies said: “This is a fantastic achievement and truly a team effort on behalf of our customers, partners and staff. Their generosity and support surpassed our expectations and helped us exceed our fundraising goal and I am delighted to be able to hand over so much money to such a good cause.

"I personally have direct experience of the tremendous services they carry out as my granddaughter Ellie was born three months prematurely and we hope this donation enables them to continue their invaluable work”.
