Two elderly brothers assaulted at home
Two elderly brothers have been assaulted at their home in Co Armagh on Wednesday.
The men, who are in their 70's, were at home in the Creenagh Road area of Loughgall when around five men called at the door at around 7pm.
The assailants, who were aged between 19 to 25-years-old, knocked the door repeatedly before being let in by one of the brothers. The men then proceeded to beat him with a cudgel while a blanket was pulled over the head of the other brother who was in bed at the time.
The house was then ransacked before the men made their escape in a dark coloured car.
The victim who answered the door sustained an injury to his eye as a result of the attack while his brother was left shocked but uninjured.
Detectives wish to speak to anyone who observed a dark coloured car in the Creenagh Road area of Loughgall at around 7pm or who witnessed any other suspicious activity to contact them on 0845 600 8000 or anonymously at Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Two 18-year-old men have been attacked with baseball bats in Whitehead, Co Antrim. The victims were closing premises in the Balmoral Avenue area at around 8.30pm on Tuesday, 04 October when three men assaulted them. Both men were treated in hospital for their injuries. One has been discharged, and the other remains in hospital.

Couple attacked in County Down
Police in County Down are appealing for information after a couple were assaulted in their home yesterday evening. The incident happened at around 6.30pm, when a three men forced their way into the property on the Rathgill Road area of Bangor and attacked the occupants.

Young Girl Approached In L'Derry
Police are appealing for information after a young girl was approached by men in a van in L'Derry. The incident happened in the Creggan area at around 4.15pm on Wednesday. The nine-year-old girl was walking in the Creggan area when a white van pulled up beside her. One of the three men asked her to get in, however the girl refused and ran home.
