Officers injured as police car is rammed

Two police officers have been injured after their car was hit by a stolen vehicle in east Belfast on Thursday.

The incident occurred on the Ormeau Embankment, close to the Ravenhill Road, in the early hours of the morning. Police said they weren't chasing the black Volkswagen Golf when the incident occurred.

Police want to speak to the drivers of two other Golf cars - one silver and one red - which were seen in the Ravenhill area at the time of the collision.

Meanwhile, a woman who died in a road traffic accident near Lisburn on Wednesday has been named as Michelle Latimer, 30 from Maghaberry.

The victim was in a car which collided with a lorry on the Old Moira Road between Moira and Glenavy.

Traffic was diverted while the emergency services attended the scene.
