Man charged with murder of his mother
A 35-year-old man has been charged with the murder of his mother in north Belfast at the weekend.
Seamus Little handed himself over to police after the body of his mother, Maureen Little, was found on Sunday at her home in Richmond Square off the Cavehill Road.
In court on Tuesday, a detective inspector said he believed he could connect him with the charge while the defence solicitor said he had been asked to express Mr Little's deep regret at what he called a "very tragic incident".
A detective questioned in court on Tuesday also confirmed that Mr Little had been "assessed by a psychiatrist during interview" and that it was clear he had "problems".
Mr Little was remanded in custody for four weeks until 29 November.
