Woman punched in face as she walked dog
A middle-aged woman has been treated in hospital after being attacked by a gang of men in Co Antrim at the weekend.
The victim, who is in her 50s, was walking her dog along the Belfast Road in Carrickfergus at about 11.45pm on Saturday when she was attacked by four men.
They demanded money and a mobile phone before punching her in the face, leaving her unconscious.
The woman was found a short time later by a passer by who was able to ring for an ambulance.
Police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them on 028 9065 0222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Woman Found Unconscious On Co Down Road
A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.

Hero Army Dog Handlers Honoured
Murdered soldiers who worked with specialist 'sniffer' dogs during the Northern Ireland Troubles have been remembered. The 'Red Paw' and its work across Northern Ireland was the subject of a special memorial service held in England at the weekend. It was in honour of the six dog handlers and two sniffer dogs killed in Northern Ireland.

Pensioner attacked during burglary of her home
A 90-year-old woman was assaulted during a burglary of her home in Ballygowan, Co Down last night. The woman was confronted by a teenager after hearing noise in her kitchen. The youth then assaulted the elderly woman before escaping into an alley at the back of the house. Police believe an accomplice then joined the assailant.

Hunt continues for dog that attacked woman
CCTV footage has been released in an attempt to identify a dog which attacked a woman in Donegall Street last Thursday. The German Shepherd-type dog was with a man who also appears to have had a second large dog, possibly a Samoyed or Husky with him. Neither animal appeared to be on a leash.

Man And Woman Attacked In Ballymena
A man and woman are being treated in hospital after being assaulted by masked men in County Antrim. A group of masked men forced their way into a house on the Ballybogey Road in Ballymena in the early hours of Tuesday morning. A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is being questioned by the police.
