Bike found in musician murder case
A bicycle found by police divers in the River Foyle at the weekend is believed to the one owned by murdered musician James Gilchrist.
Mr Gilchrist, 62, was murdered on Wednesday 28 September, just a short time after leaving a nearby bar.
Forensic experts are examining the bicycle which was discovered on Sunday morning.
Mr Gilchrist was buried last Thursday at St Mary's Church in Creggan. Friends of the keen motorcyclist escorted the coffin from his home in the Woodbrooke area of the city.
Police stopped pedestrians and motorists in the John Street, Foyle Road, and Foyle Embankment areas of the city between 12:30am and 1:30am in an effort to obtain further information about his movements that night.
Mr Gilchrist is known to have left the Oval Bar at Duke Street in the city at around 12:30am on September 28. He made his way across the top deck of the Craigavon Bridge and was last seen at the bottom of John Street approximately 10 minutes later, when he crossed the road onto the Foyle Embankment.

The body of missing man Sam Comber has been recovered from the River Foyle, police have confirmed. Mr Comber, 39, was last seen at a supermarket in L'Derry on Sunday, 14 May. His bicycle was later found in a lay-by in the Newbuildings area. His body was recovered on Saturday, 20 May.

Firefighters Tackle Blaze In L'Derry
Firefighters are tackling a blaze at a Poundstretcher store in L'Derry. The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Services (NIFRS) was alerted about the blaze on Bishop Street at around 1.30am on Thursday morning. Third man charged denies musician's murder
A third man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Londonderry musician James Gilchrist. The body of Mr Gilchrist, 62, was found in the River Foyle just hours after he left a pub in the city on September 28. Darryl John Quigley, 18, from Crawford Square, appeared in court on Thursday to deny the charge.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
