Taylor declared fit for Wales game

Northern Ireland goalkeeper Maik Taylor has been declared fit for Saturday's World Cup qualifying game with Wales at Windsor Park.

The Birmingham City shot stopper has been troubled by back pain recently but took part in training on Wednesday.

However, out of Saturday's game is back up keeper Roy Carroll and midfielder Stephen Robinson, who are both carrying knocks. With defenders Aaron Hughes and Chris Baird also out through injury and suspension respectively, Sanchez has called up Lincoln City defender Gareth McAuley and Burnley full back Michael Duff. Baird however will be available for selection against Austria in Vienna on Wednesday week.

Saturday's game against Wales will see Northern Ireland go into the match as favourites following their win over England last month.

A victory on Saturday will see Lawrie Sanchez' men just one win away from finishing third in the group, thus improving Northern Ireland's seedings for the Euro 2008 qualifiers which begin next year.
