Six arrested following Gray murder
Six people have been arrested by police in connection with the death of former UDA leader Jim Gray on Tuesday.
Gray, 47, is believed to have answered the door of his father's house in east Belfast at about 8pm where he was confronted by two gunmen who shot him.
Police have confirmed that the involvement of the UDA was a "major line of inquiry" in the investigation.
The former east Belfast UDA 'brigadier' had recently been released on bail on charges of money laundering, and was living at his father's house while awaiting a court appearance.
His death was immediately condemned by local politicians.
DUP MP for the area Peter Robinson said there was no excuse for the murder.
"Those who take the law into their own hands have nothing to contribute to society," he said.
Political Development Minister David Hanson said the murder must be condemned and was "not acceptable" to society.
Gray, dubbed 'Doris Day' or 'Brigadier of Bling', because of his flamboyant dress and gold jewellery, was expelled from the UDA earlier this year due to erratic behaviour.

Six released in Gray murder probe
Six people arrested in connection with the murder of former UDA chief Jim Gray have been released by police. Three men were released without charge early on Saturday, while the fourth man was freed later on. Two women arrested in connection with the murder were released last Thursday.

Detectives return to scene of Gray murder
Detectives have returned to the spot where former UDA chief Jim Gray was murdered last week. Police handed out leaflets and stopped motorists driving near the scene on the Clarawood estate on Tuesday, exactly one week after the 47-year-old was gunned down outside his father's home.

Stabbing being treated as attempted murder
Police are treating the stabbing of a man in Co Antrim on Wednesday as attempted murder. The victim sustained face and neck injuries after being attacked with a sharp instrument as he answered his door in the Eglinton Street area of Portrush shortly after 10pm.

Former east Belfast UDA leader Jim Gray has had his bank accounts frozen, Banbridge Magistrates Court heard today. The 47-year-old, who was charged at the weekend with possessing and concealing criminal property but who denies the charges, appeared by video link from Maghaberry Prison and spoke only to confirm his name.

Shotgun murder victim is buried
The funeral of Jeffery 'Greyhound' Thomas Gray has taken place at a private service in Lurgan today. Mr Gray was shot dead on Friday night by a lone gunman as he walked along the Ravenhill Road in east Belfast. The 41-year-old is thought to have been drinking in the area shortly before the gunman struck.
