Man attacked in north Belfast
A man has been taken to hospital after an attack in north Belfast on Monday.
The victim was seriously assaulted in Kansas Avenue, off the Antrim Road, at around 4.30am.
One man has been arrested and the road remains closed as the police examine the scene.
Elsewhere, detectives in Castlereagh are appealing for information after a woman was robbed in south Belfast over the weekend.
Sometime between 4.20am and 5.20am on Saturday, the victim was walking along the laneway at Kinross Avenue, near the Tullycarnet Community Centre, when she was approached by an unknown man who threatened her with a knife and then snatched her handbag.
The man is described as being around 6’ tall, of thin build, and was wearing a scarf to cover his face. He was also wearing dark coloured clothing and had the hood of his top pulled up over his head.
The victim was not physically injured during the incident.

Weekend road victim named
Police have released the name of a 44-year old man who was killed in a road traffic incident at the weekend. Jim Donaghy, from the Donegal Road area of South Belfast, died after the motorbike he was driving was in collision with a car on Sunday afternoon. The incident happened at around 2.30pm in the Temple area of Carryduff.

North Belfast Murder Victim Conor McKee Shot A Number Of Times
31-year-old north Belfast murder victim Conor McKee was shot a number of times, police have revealed. Mr McKee was found dead by his mother at his Glenpark Street home last Thursday night. Two men arrested over the murder have been released on bail.

Man Dies Suddenly In Co Armagh
A man in his 20s has suddenly passed away in Co Armagh. The victim died in the Hartfield Avenue area of Portadown on Thursday, 03 August. It is understood police are not treating the death as suspicious.

Police in south Belfast are appealing for information following an armed robbery in east Belfast last night. The victim was walking along East Bridge Street, close to the junction of Stewart Street, between 7pm and 7.30pm, when he was approached by three males.

Man beaten in north Belfast home
A man has been attacked at his home in north Belfast on Thursday. Police said that the 46-year-old was tied up and then beaten with a baton by three masked men at his house on the Serpentine Road shortly before 11.15pm. The victim's two children, aged 10 and 12 years, were asleep upstairs during the incident and were unhurt.
