Local firm ‘wraps’ up success
A leading Co Down sandwich company is to create 12 new jobs thanks to a major re-investment package.
Warrenpoint firm Deli Lites intends to expand its current product range and incorporate new production equipment to improve the company’s overall productivity, efficiency and quality.
The company also plans to invest in nutritional calculation software which will give their customers detailed information on the food value of all the company’s current product lines.
Company Director Brian Reid said: “This re-investment project will allow us to diversify our existing product range, upgrade our current equipment and strengthen our marketing strategy. It will also lead to the creation of a number of new positions within the company and allow us to increase our presence in profitable export markets.
“We have grown rapidly from a small gourmet sandwich company set up in 1994 to a leading all-Ireland food supplier. With Invest NI’s support we fully intend to capitalise on our success and develop the company further."
Mr Reid said he anticipated that the expansion would help to further stimulate businesses growth and lead to a 30% increase of the company’s export sales to the Republic of Ireland by 2007.
