Sanchez names unchanged NI side
Northern Ireland manager Lawrie Sanchez has named an unchanged side for Wednesday night's World Cup qualifier against England at Windsor Park.
All those involved in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Azerbaijan will now face an England side that will involve Newcastle United striker Michael Owen. The former Real Madrid player is expected to England's starting line up ahead of Joe Cole who scored against Wales at the weekend.
Northern Ireland have not beaten England on home soil since the 1920's however Sanchez says his players must believe they can do it if a miracle is to happen tonight.
"Without that belief nothing is possible. In the sides I have played in or managed in those [FA Cup] situations, the players achieved beyond their capabilities because they believed they could," Sanchez told the Guardian newspaper.
"I've spoken to the players and will do so again. There are one or two doubters even now. But there are also one or two people who do believe. My job between now and kick-off is to convince enough of the team that they are capable of doing it. As a manager I'm certainly not here to make up the numbers, despite where we may be ranked in the world."
Kick-off for this evenings match is 7.45pm with the game a 14,000 sell-out.
Northern Ireland team: Taylor, Baird, Hughes, Craigan, Capaldi, Gillespie, Davis, Johnson, Elliott, Healy, Quinn.
England team probable: Robinson, Young, Carragher, Ferdinand, Cole, Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard, Wright Phillips, Rooney, Owen.
