Castledawson firm breaks into US market
Quality shirts designed and manufactured by a Castledawson firm are now to be sold in upmarket department stores across the US with help from Invest NI.
The US breakthrough by Savile Row Company is the result of a strategic partnership signed by the firm and Superior Apparel in Boston, one of North America’s top clothing companies.
Managing Director Jeffrey Doltis said: “This is an immensely important development for us in the world’s biggest clothing marketplace. It’s also a market that we targeted some time ago.
“The agreement, which is for the supply of quality business shirts and ties, will give us access to a network of upmarket department stores throughout the US. In the longer-term, we would hope to develop a network of franchise stores with Superior Apparel."
Savile Row, which has its main administration and sales operations in the centre of London and its design office and manufacturing base in Northern Ireland, is one of the UK's best known brands for upmarket customers.
The company currently employs around 100 people in a range of activities including garment design, manufacturing, warehousing and contact centre support for its fast growing and successful mail order service, which is managed from Castledawson.
