A two day event to be held in the beautiful surroundings of Castle Espie,
the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust property on the banks of Strangford Lough,
promises a great Œgreen‚ day out, with all the fun of the fair!
The NIE Green Living Fair at WWT Castle Espie in Comber on Saturday 17th and

a sustainable Œdead good‚ funeral. Whilst the kids can get their faces
painted, make a giant rocket and then propel it with nothing but air and use
their own cycle power to make themselves free smoothies!
Speaking at the launch of the NIE sponsored event, Wilma Stewart from the
company said:
„As well as all of the other activities, the NIE Renewables marquee will be
a one-stop shop for anyone interested in renewables, with a wide range of
exhibitors who will be able to give the latest advice and information on
renewable energy technologies for your home, farm and business. There will
also be information on grants from NIE and Government for renewable
installations.
„The NIE marquee will also feature Action Renewables‚ talks on both days
from 11am-4pm, which will go into the individual technologies in more
detail.‰
Director of the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) in Northern Ireland, James
Orr, said that visitors to Castle Espie can get closer to wetland birds and
enjoy spectacular wetland landscapes, providing the perfect venue for this
event. He said:
„There will also be workshops in the Castle Espie woodland on rustic
furniture making, stone walls, wood carving and sculpture. On the Saturday,
the heavy horses are sure to be a big draw and later on weather allowing, a
candlelit labyrinth walk will top off the day‚s event.
„We‚re also delighted to have a dedicated renewable energy marquee, thanks
to NIE.‰
