Men steal cash from elderly woman

Police are appealing for information after a pensioner was robbed at her home in north Belfast on Wednesday.

The two robbers called to the 82-year-old’s home in the Skegoneil Avenue area at about 5pm, claiming to be from the Housing Executive. One of the men then distracted her while the other stole a sum of money.

The woman was uninjured but left badly shaken by the incident.

Detectives have advised pensioners and vulnerable people in north Belfast to be careful and called on anyone with information about Wednesday’s incident to contact them on 028 9065 0222.

Elderly women confronted by robbers
Police are appealing for information after a woman and her elderly mother had their east Belfast home robbed last night. Three men entered the house at Ranleigh Street, off the Ravenhill Road at around 9.30pm on Thursday.

Pensioner robbed in County Armagh
Police in County Armagh have appealed for information after a 78-year-old man was robbed in his home at the weekend. The incident happened at around 6.10pm yesterday evening, when three men called to the pensioners home on the Ballymore Road in Tandragee and pretended to be looking for directions.
