Catholic church damaged in petrol bomb attack
Police in Belfast are appealing for information following a petrol bomb attack on a Catholic church in the north of the city.
Detectives said that two petrol bombs were thrown at Holy Cross Church on the Crumlin Road, from the Woodvale Road area shortly before 2.10am on Saturday. The second device caused damage to a small section of roof to the rear of the church.
Commenting on the incident, Sinn Fein MLA Gerry Kelly said there was “no justification” for the attacks.
"What happened on Saturday follows weeks of sustained attacks against nationalists living in the area where both properties and people have been attacked,” Mr Kelly said.
"Unionist leaders whether community, political and clergy need to be clear in coming out against the attack and use whatever influence they have to bring them to an end.”
Police said they are treating the incident as sectarian and have issued an appeal for information.

House Damaged In Petrol Bomb attack
A house in Larne has been damaged in a petrol bomb attack, according to police. It happened on Church Way at around 10.30pm on Wednesday. A man was in the house at the time but was unhurt. Minor damage was caused to the property and a window was smashed. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

TWO elderly Protestant sisters have escaped injury after a petrol bomb attack on their East Belfast home. The women, aged 73 and 79, escaped injury after a passing police patrol discovered a fire at their home and forced their way into the house in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

House targeted in suspected petrol bomb attack
Police in Co Down are appealing for information following a suspected petrol bomb attack at a house in Saintfield. The incident occurred at a property on the Listooder Road at around 12.45am on Monday. Scorch damage was caused to the front door of the house and a door mat was also destroyed by the fire.

Police Response Criticised Over Church Hall Attack
Two separate investigations are underway today as the PSNI investigate overnight attacks, one involving a pipe bomb and another a petrol bomb. In Co Fermanagh, the PSNI have been criticised for not turning out until daylight after a petrol bomb was thrown at a Church of Ireland hall.
