Bus carrying elderly women attacked by gang of youths

A bus carrying 14 elderly women was attacked with paint and stones by a group of youths in Greysteel, Co. Londonderry, last night.

The women were returning to Limavady after a night out at bingo.

Windows on the bus were broken and some passengers were spattered with paint and showered with glass. Although badly shaken, none of the women were seriously injured.

Police have appealed for anyone with information regarding the attack to contact them.

Translink Bus Strike 'Back On' From 17-23 May
The bus strike "is back on", the GMB Union has announced after their members rejected a revised pay offer. The union has said that drivers, cleaners and shunters across the company will walk out for seven days from 17 to 23 May 2022, "causing the entire bus network to grind to a halt".

Belfast City Centre Bus Lane Scheme Criticised
The SDLP said it is "seriously concerned" after a city centre bus lane scheme in Belfast has left motorists confused. In Great Victoria street, one signpost contains two signs which have led to confusion, however motorists are still being fined.

Three Women Attacked In Armed Robbery In South Belfast
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following an armed robbery at a salon in south Belfast. Two men, armed with a knife and a baseball, entered the salon on the Lisburn Road at about 7:40pm on Sunday 20 February.
