Teenage girl dies in road accident

A teenager has died following a road accident in Co Antrim on Tuesday.

The 15-year-old girl, who has not yet been named, died after being hit by an articulated lorry while trying to cross four lanes of traffic on the M22 at Moneynick, near Toomebridge at around 5pm.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the accident to contact them on 028 9065 0222.

Elsewhere, police have arrested a man after a woman's car was rammed three times in south Belfast. The incident occurred at around 12.40pm on Tuesday as police chased a car that had failed to stop at Broadway. There were no injuries during the incident.

A 26-year-old was later arrested on the Donegall Road and charged with dangerous driving and criminal damage.

He is expected to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court next month.

Woman and child die in separate road accidents
Police are appealing for information after a woman and child died in two separate road accidents overnight. In Belcoo, Co Fermanagh, a three-year-old girl died after being hit by a car. The accident happened on the Railway Road at around 9.15pm on Monday. The girl is the third child to die on Northern Ireland's roads this year.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
