Loyalists linked to baseball bat attack

A woman has been beaten by a gang of masked men, believed to be loyalist paramilitaries, in an attack in Co Antrim on Thursday.

Three men forced their way into her house in the Mosside area of Ballymoney at about midnight and beat her with baseball bats.

They then ransacked the property before escaping in a car in the direction of Armoy.

The woman is currently being treated in hospital for severe bruising to her body.

Police have appealed for anyone with information concerning the incident to contact them on 028 9065 0222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Woman Found Unconscious On Co Down Road
A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.

There was good news from the USA this week as Co Armagh student, Natasha McShane came out of her coma. The 23-year-old Silverbridge woman was badly beaten in a baseball attack in America last month and had been in a drug induced coma in intensive care after she was hit on the back of the head in Chicago last month.

Two men beaten in sectarian attack
Police are treating an attack on two men in Ballymena last night as sectarian. Both men suffered broken bones and severe bruising after being set upon by a gang in Mount Street at around 9.45pm. Police subsequently arrested six men while a Ford transit van is being forensically examined following the incident.

Four People Released Over Under-Car Bomb Attack In L'Derry
Four people arrested over an attempted under-car bomb attack on a police officer have been released unconditionally. The device was placed under a car in Eglinton, L'Derry, on 18 June 2015. Three men, aged 29, 38 and 46, and a 32-year-old woman were arrested in Belfast, L'Derry an Pomeroy, however they have since been released.

Four people have been arrested in connection with an under-car bomb attack on a police officer in L'Derry. The device was placed under the officer's vehicle in Eglinton on 18 June 2015. The arrests were made in Belfast, L'Derry and Pomeroy.
