Gunshot victim still in a critical condition

The 26-year-old man who was found with a gunshot wound to his chest at a graveyard in Co Down on Monday remains in a critical condition in hospital.

The victim was dragged into Redburn Cemetery in Holywood by four men before being shot in the early hours of the morning. A local resident raised the alarm at around 2.30am after hearing a gunshot followed by cries for help.

Police said they were treating the incident as attempted murder after the man was able to tell officers he had been abducted from a nearby petrol station.

Paramilitary involvement in the shooting is one line of inquiry currently being investigated by police.

Detectives have also been carrying out door-to-door enquiries on Monday.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of Colin Horner
A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Colin Horner in Bangor, Co Down. Mr Horner was fatally shot outside a supermarket in from of his young son on 28 May this year. The suspect has been taken to Musgrave police station to be questioned.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Arrests Follow Shootings
While police are investigating the shooting of a 23-year-old man - wounded in County Armagh last night, a man (27) has been arrested in connection with a murder that occurred almost a year ago, in Londonderry. Pub doorman Brian McGlynn, (28) was shot dead at his home in the Fountain Hill area of the Waterside in June 2007.
