Three men sought in Belfast jewellers robbery

Detectives in Musgrave Street are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a jewellers shop in south Belfast.

Shortly after 9.30am on Monday morning, three men, one armed with a handgun, entered the shop on the Lisburn Road and threatened staff. They then stole a quantity of diamond rings worth an estimated £150,000.

It is understood the men fled in a waiting car, possibly a silver Ford Focus which was later found on fire at Randal Park. Police believe this car may have been used by the robbers before they changed into a second vehicle.

Police are particularly keen to speak to a motorcyclist who was parked outside the shop between 9.15am and 9.30am on the morning of the incident.

Detectives also believe the robbers may have been in the Lisburn Road and Randal Park areas over the previous weekend.

Detectives investigating ongoing INLA activity have arrested a 27-year-old man in Co L'Derry. The suspect was detained by police from the PSNI's Paramilitary Crime Task Force on Wednesday, 07 March. The man was taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning.

Police appeal for witnesses following bus hijacking
Police are appealing for witnesses after a bus was hijacked by gunmen in Londonderry last night. A number of armed men boarded the bus in the Shantallow area of the city shortly before 11pm on Thursday and ordered the 20 passengers off.
