Healy declares himself fit for Germany game

Northern Ireland striker David Healy has declared himself fit to face Germany at Windsor Park on Saturday.

The Leeds United player has managed to shake off an ankle injury which he sustained during a game at Watford in April.

The 25-year-old Killyleagh-born star is likely to partner James Quinn up front for Saturday’s friendly which is part of the Irish Football Association’s (IFA) 125th Anniversary celebrations.

Meanwhile, recent Champions League winner Dietmar Hamann has pulled out of the Germany squad ahead of this weekend’s game.

The Liverpool midfielder has withdrawn because of a foot injury sustained during last month’s sensational Champions League final against Milan in Istanbul.

Germany manager Jurgen Klinsmann said his side would miss the 31-year-old’s influence.
