Two men arrested following petrol bomb attack

Police in Ballymena have arrested two men following a sectarian attack on a home in Ahoghill at the weekend.

Shortly before 4am on Sunday, a petrol bomb was thrown at the front of the house in the Brookfield Gardens area of the town.

A woman, who was in the house at the time, was not physically injured. One man has since been charged with attempted intimidation.

Police are appealing for anyone with information, or anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the Brookfield Gardens area in the early hours, to come forward as soon as possible.

Man arrested after north Belfast fire
A 35-year-old man has been arrested following a house fire in north Belfast. The incident happened at property in the Castleton Gardens area of Skegoneil at around 12pm today. Four police officers and a man were taken to hospital after the incident for treatment for smoke inhalation.

Man Charged Over Murder Of Laurence Shaw
A man has been charged with the murder of Laurence Shaw. The 56-year-old victim was found dead at his home in the Hillmount Gardens area in the Seacourt estate in Larne on Monday, 09 October. A 39-year-old was charged in connection with the murder. The suspect is to appear before Ballymena Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 25 October.

Police blame loyalists for Ballymena bar attack
Police in Ballymena are blaming loyalists for a bomb attack on a bar in the town early this morning. Police and fire crews were called to the Glens Way Tavern on the Glenravel Road in Martinstown at around 2.30am and discovered the building well alight.

Former UDA Brigadier Was Aware He Was Under Threat - PSNI
Former UDA brigadier John Boreland was aware he was under threat after he was fatally shot in north Belfast on Sunday, 07 August, according to the police. The shooting attack happened in the Sunningdale Gardens area in Ballysillan at approximately 9.50pm. He died at the scene.
