Police appeal following city centre robbery
Detectives in Belfast are appealing for information following an armed robbery on Friday evening.
At around 6pm a member of staff was making a cash lodgement to a night safe on Upper Arthur Street in the city centre when two males, armed with a handgun and a knife, approached their O’Briens sandwich van and ordered them to hand over a substantial sum of cash. The robbers then ran off in the direction of May Street.
The first robber is described as being around 5’11” tall, medium build, thin face, fair hair with stubble, wearing a navy jumper and navy baseball hat. The other is described as being of similar height, clean shaven and was wearing a grey top.
Police say the area was very busy at the time of the incident and have appealed for anyone who was walking along Upper Arthur Street or May Street between 6pm and 6.30pm to contact Police at Musgrave Street on 028 9065 0222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Police seize drug tablets in Belfast
Police in south Belfast have recovered what is believed to be a substantial quantity of ecstasy tablets. A police spokesperson said that the tablets had an estimated street value of around £50,000. The tablets were recovered after police spoke to the occupants of a car in Glengall Street at around 6pm on Sunday.

Man injured in petrol station attack
A 21-year-old man has been taken to hospital following an attack in County Antrim. The incident happened at around 6pm yesterday, when three masked men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, approached the man in the forecourt of a garage on the Colinglen Road area of Dunmurry, and proceeded to assault him.
