Woman left ‘severely traumatised’ following sexual assault

Detectives in Belfast are appealing for information following a serious sexual assault in the Malone Road area of the city at the weekend.

Sometime between 1am and 4am on Sunday, a woman in her early twenties was assaulted in the grounds of a church at the bottom of Chlorine Gardens leaving her in a “severely traumatised” state.

Her attacker is described as being in his thirties, 5’ 9” tall, of average build with dark hair and a long face. Prominent laughter lines are also visible on either side of his mouth and it is believed he may have had a southern accent.
