Police treat body find as ‘suspicious’
Police are treating the discovery of a man’s body in Co Down on Thursday as “suspicious”.
The body was discovered in a yard at the back of an office in Church Square, Banbridge, at about 8.30am.
Police and emergency services were called to the scene but the man, who is believed to be in his 20s, was pronounced dead.
It is not yet known how the man, who is not thought to be from the town, died.
A post mortem will be carried out. There are not further details at present.

Police have launched an investigation after the body of a man was recovered from Bangor Marina on Wednesday, 13 May. Police received a report that a man had entered the water shortly after 10.15am. Emergency services and police attended the scene and the body was recovered from the water. Police are not treating the death as suspicious.

The victim, who is believed to be a man in his 40's, was discovered at a house in Penrose Street, off the Ormeau Road shortly before 1.55pm yesterday afternoon by a contractor due to carry out repairs on the property.

Police have issued an appeal for the parents of a baby boy found dead on the banks of the River Lagan on 21 February 1984. A woman out walking her dog found the babies body inside a green plastic bag at Legacurry Road in Lisburn 30 years ago. A post-mortem examination found that the baby had died of head injuries.
