Woman left in critical condition following stabbing

A woman has been left in a critical condition in hospital after she was stabbed at a house in west Belfast at the weekend.

The victim, who is believed to be in her 40s, sustained chest wounds in the stabbing which occurred at a house in Norglen Parade at around 5.30pm on Sunday.

One man has been arrested and is being questioned by police who have appealed for anyone with information to contact them on 028 9065 0222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Meanwhile, a security guard has been assaulted and robbed at gunpoint in east Belfast on Saturday.

The assailant approached a Securicor van on the Ballygowan Road at about 1.15pm and promptly assaulted the guard before making off with a cash box in a waiting maroon car.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the robbery or has anyone information about it to get in contact with them.

Two men die in separate stabbing incidents
Two people have been killed in separate stabbing incidents in Northern Ireland over the weekend. Hugh McKibben, 51, of Main Street in Carrowdore died in a stabbing incident at a house on Inisharoan Court about midnight on Sunday May 5. Four people were arrested following his murder but three have since been released on police bail.

Man Released On Bail Over College Stabbing Incident
A man, 20, who was arrested in connection with a stabbing at a college in Belfast has been released on bail. Police said the man was released pending further enquiries. A 26-year-old is currently in hospital following the incident at Belfast Metropolitan College on Thursday. His condition is described as serious but stable.

A man is in a “serious condition” in hospital following a stabbing incident in Londonderry in the early hours of this morning. The attack happened at a house in the Glenvale area of the city and was reported to police at around 3.30am.

Man Charged Over Belfast Stabbing
Police investigating a knife attack in Belfast over the weekend have charged a 20-year-old man. The stabbing incident was reported at a flat in the University Street area in the early hours of Saturday 20 July and the man was later arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily injury with intent.

Man Arrested Following Two Stabbing Incidents In Belfast
A 27-year-old man has been arrested following two stabbing incidents in Belfast city centre. The injuries to both victims are not believed to be life-threatening. Inspector Donna McGrady said police were alerted at about 1.15am by a member of the public on Bedford Street to a fight going on in the area.
