Gun wielding thieves rob jewellers

Police are appealing for information after gun wielding thieves robbed a jewellers in Enniskillen on Thursday.

Two men entered the shop on the town's High Street at around 11am and threatened staff.

The assailants eventually made off with a quantity of jewellery and are thought to have fled in a blue Vauxhall Corsa which was later found abandoned in the Quay Lane car park.

Elsewhere, drivers are being warned to take care when parked at traffic lights after two women had handbags snatched from their cars in north Belfast.

In the first incident a woman was stopped on the Westlink when three youths opened her car door and stole her handbag at around 4.30pm on Wednesday.

A short time later a second woman had her handbag stolen waiting at traffic lights in nearby York Street.

Neither women were injured during the incidents however both were left badly shaken.

Police have appealed for anyone with information on either incident to contact them.
