Queen + Paul Rodgers to play Belfast Odyssey
Legendary rock band Queen are coming to Belfast's Odyssey Arena.
Perhaps most famous for their rock-operatic multi-million seller Bohemian Rhapsody, the band's remaining members, Brian May and Roger Taylor will perform at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena in May alongside guest vocalist Paul Rodgers.
Rodgers, who was the front man for successful 70’s bands Free and Bad Company, was asked to join the band after they appeared together at the recent UK hall of Fame awards in London where Queen were being inducted.
The trio, who will also be joined by three backing musicians on the tour, are expected to play a variety of songs from Queen’s extensive back catalogue as well as hits by Free, Bad Company and from Paul Rodger’s solo career.
Billed as Queen + Paul Rodgers, the Belfast gig will take place on Friday May 13 before moving to Dublin’s Point the following night.
The band have already sold out of most of their European concert dates with speculation growing that they will soon announce a US tour later in 2005.
Official confirmation of the Belfast date was made on Thursday with tickets going on sale at Wonderland Promotions and usual outlets this coming Saturday.

Bandsmen Guilty Of Breaking Parade Conditions
Parading conditions were broken by two bandsmen who played The Sash outside a Catholic Church. The two flute band members, Thomas Beresford, 21, of Strathearn Court and Stephen Walker, 28, of Church Green, both in Holywood, County Down, were convicted of knowingly flouting a ban on playing non-sacred music.
