Two killed on NI roads in two days

A teenage girl has died in a road traffic collision in Co Antrim on Monday.

The 17-year-old victim was killed when two cars were involved in an accident on the Garryduff Road near Dunloy just after 1am on Monday.

Another person involved in the accident has been taken to hospital however their condition is not known.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

Meanwhile, a young man has died following a road traffic accident in Co Londonderry on Sunday.

Charles Martin Higgins, 19, from Mortalee Lane in Desertmartin, Magherafelt, was travelling along the Toome by-pass towards Belfast when his silver Citroen car left the road.

Initial enquiries suggest that no other vehicles were involved which occurred at around midnight.

Anyone who may have seen the incident or the car involved is asked to contact police at Magherafelt on 028 7963 3701.

Motor Bikers Die
The roads have claimed more victims across Ireland after two motorcyclists were killed in separate NI road crashes and a car driver was fatally injured in Kerry. In Co Down, a biker was travelling along the Comber Road in Killyleagh when he came off his machine on Sunday evening.

Police Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Road Crash
The PSNI have appealed for witnesses to a road crash in which a 78-year-old woman has died. The accident happened at about 14:15 on Thursday on the Warrenpoint Road in Newry and involved two cars. Two men and a woman are being treated in hospital following the crash. Police have appealed for anyone in the area at the time to contact them.
