Loyalist feud blamed for attacks on taxi firm
A spate of attacks on taxis in north Belfast are being linked to a feud between rival loyalists it emerged today.
Last night a number of vehicles were burned at Carnan Street and Westway Gardens in Ballysillan at around 7pm.
Subsequent police searches saw officers attacked with petrol bombs however no one was injured and one arrest was made.
At the weekend a number of other taxis working for the same company, Call-A-Cab, which is partly owned by prominent loyalist Jackie Mahood, were also set alight.
It is thought the incidents may be linked to a feud between the Loyalist Volunteer Force and the rival Ulster Volunteer Force in the area.

Bomb and arson attacks linked to loyalist feud
Police are linking separate bomb and arson attacks in north Belfast to an ongoing loyalist feud in the area. Detectives said they believe ongoing trouble between the UVF and LVF may be the motive behind a fire which caused extensive damage to a taxi depot, and two other properties, on the Ballysillan Road at about 3am on Sunday.

Loyalists behind Lurgan shooting
A man has been shot in Co Armagh on Friday in what is being connected to a possible escalation of an ongoing loyalist feud in Belfast. The victim was shot in the stomach and legs in playing fields at Glenavon Lane, Lurgan at about 2.30pm on Friday afternoon.

Sinn Féin has called on the PSNI to tackle loyalist paramilitaries in east Antrim and described the situation as "intolerable". Northern leader Michelle O'Neill has written to Chief Constable George Hamilton following the rise in loyalist attacks in the area, including a shooting targeted at a child's bedroom.

Carrickfergus Shooting Believed To Be Linked to Loyalist Feud
Police believe a shooting in Carrickfergus is linked to a loyalist feud in the area. A man, aged in his 40s, is being treated in hospital after being shot in the neck in the Pinewood Avenue area at around 2.15pm on Monday, 13 March. The gunman is thought to have fled the scene on foot.
