Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died in a hit-and-run incident in Belfast city centre on Wednesday.

The victim is believed to have been knocked down in Waring Street by a tipper lorry before being dragged into Toome Street by another vehicle which reportedly stopped at the scene shortly after lunchtime.

Dunbar Link, Toome Street, Corporation Street and Donegall Quay were all closed for a time following the incident, but have since reopened.

Detectives would particularly like to speak to any lorry drivers who were in the area at the time of the incident.
