Bushmills man attacked by gang in home

Detectives in Co Antrim are appealing for information after a 56-year-old man was attacked at his home in Bushmills last night.

Three masked people entered the house in Burnbrae at around 10pm and hit him with bats as he watched television with his wife.

The victim suffered bruising and puncture wounds to his head, body, arms and legs while his wife was left shocked and shaken, but otherwise unharmed.

Elsewhere, a 58-year-old man has escaped injury after an arson attack in Co Down.

Flammable liquid was thrown through the window of the man’s home at Martin Green in Shrigley, outside Killyleagh, shortly before midnight on Wednesday causing smoke damage to the living room after the curtains caught fire.

The Fire Brigade was immediately dispatched to the scene after neighbours alerted emergency services to the blaze.

Police have appealed for information following reports that two masked men were seen running away from the area around 30 minutes before the attack took place.

Woman Attacked By Masked Gang Armed With Hammers
Police have issued an appeal for information after a woman was assaulted in her home in Carrickfergus, County Antrim. According to police, the woman, aged in her 40s, was in bed at her home on Sunningdale Crescent, when five masked me, armed with hammers, forced their way into the house at around 10pm on Tuesday night.

Man Attacked By Masked Men Armed With Hammer
A man has required hospital treatment after he was beaten with a hammer during an aggravated burglary in Ahoghill, County Antrim. Police responded to the incident on Brook Street last night, Thursday 03 May at 11pm. Three masked men forced their way into the home and attacked the victim, a male aged in his 30s, who was home alone at the time.

PSNI Appeal After Man Attacked And Robbed In East Belfast
Police are appealing for information after a man was attacked and robbed in east Belfast. The incident happened on the Albertbridge Road just after midnight on Monday. The victim was walking home from Belfast city centre when a gang of men struck him from behind. He was reportedly punched him a number of times in the face by one of the men.

Family held during armed robbery
A County Tyrone family have been left shocked following an armed robbery at their home last night. The incident happened at around 11pm, when three masked and armed men attacked the owner of the property as he returned to his home in Sion Mills. The attackers escorted the man to the house, where his wife and two daughters were waiting inside.

Man Attacked In North Belfast
A man has been stabbed and attacked with a hammer in north Belfast. The 26-year-old was stabbed in the back and beaten on the head with a hammer by three masked men at Victoria Parade on Sunday. He is being treated in hospital for his injuries, however they are not believed to be life threatening.
