‘Auctionworld’ customers unlikely to receive goods

Customers who have ordered goods from a satellite TV auction channel and have not yet received them, are unlikely to do so, according to the company’s administrators.

‘Auctionworld’, which operated two channels on the Sky network – Auctionworld on Channel 651 and Chase-it on Channel 666 - went into administration in November 2004.

One of the joint administrators, Brian Hamblin, wrote recently to creditors advising that, after examination of the financial position of the company, it is clear there is no prospect of a dividend being paid to unsecured creditors. This includes those who are either customers who have not received orders, or those seeking refunds.

The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment’s Consumerline service has received numerous calls from Auctionworld customers and issued the following advice to those concerned: “We are advising customers, who are owed more than £100 and paid by credit card (not debit card or charge card), to claim against their credit card companies,” a Consumerline spokesperson said.
