Christmas presents destroyed in car blaze
Police are appealing for information after Christmas presents were destroyed in a car fire in Londonderry last night.
The owners of the car were said to be “devastated” after thieves broke into the vehicle at Foyle Park just before 3am on Wednesday.
Detectives said that after failing to steal the vehicle, the thieves set it on fire.
The owner of the vehicle, Sarah McKinney, was awoken in the early hours of the morning by a crackling noise outside. When she went outside the car was englufed in flames.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

M2 Reopens Following Vehicle Fire
All countrybound lanes of the M2 have re-opened following a vehicle fire. Smoke from the burning car caused the closure of all lanes between junctions 5 and 6 due to the incident. It is understood that the car was close to the northbound exit at Junction 6 when the fire broke out.

Police Vehicle Damaged In Car Theft Getaway
A police vehicle has been rammed during a car theft in Belfast in the early hours this morning, Wednesday 04 November. Officers were called to an incident in the Dunmore Avenue area where a number of males had gained entry to a red Mitsubishi Colt. They attended the area and observed the stolen vehicle on the Cavehill Road area.

PSNI Officers Injured After Stolen Car Crashes Into Vehicle In West Belfast
Two police officers have been injured after a stolen car crashed into their vehicle in west Belfast. A silver Volkswagen, which had been reported stolen in the Castlereagh area in connection with a creeper style burglary on Wednesday morning, collided with the PSNI vehicle in the Cullingtree area just before 9.45pm on Wednesday, 15 February.

Three People Charged Over Six-Car Collision In North Belfast
Three people have been charged in connection with a six-car collision in north Belfast. The crash happened on the Crumlin Road on Tuesday, 03 July. Police had been pursuing a stolen car after it failed to stop and caused a six-car pile up. Five people and a child had to receive hospital treatment.
