Police appeal following robbery in Glengormley

Police are appealing for information following a robbery at a hire shop in Glengormley on Tuesday.

Shortly before 6pm an employee at HSS Hire Shop on the Mallusk Road was approached by two masked men, one of whom was carrying a baton, and forced to open the premises. The men then loaded a waiting van with power tools, sanders and cutting discs.

Immediately afterward another white box lorry, fitted with a tail lift, arrived with two men on board and this vehicle was loaded with tools before both lorries fled the scene.

There was no report of an injury to the employee.

The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of Brian McIlhagga
A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Brian McIlhagga. A gang of masked men dragged the 42-year-old victim from a house in the Riverview Park area in Ballymoney on 05 January 2015. He was beaten and shot in a paramilitary-style attack.

Businesses Damaged By Blaze In Portstewart
An investigation has launched after a number of businesses were damaged by a blaze in The Diamond in Portstewart. The alarm was raised at 5am on Monday, however fire crews were called back at around 9.30am. A chip shop, coffee shop and hairdressers were damaged as a result. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.

Police Appeal Following Shop Raid
Police in Co Down have appealed for information following a robbery at a shop in Dundrum. The incident happened at a premises on Main Street shortly after 5am this morning (5 January). Three men are thought to have been involved in the robbery. Two are said to have entered the shop and stole a quantity of cigarettes, as well as cash from the tills.
