Two Invest NI backed company expansions create 26 jobs
Two company expansions backed by Invest NI will help create 26 new jobs at two separate firms announced today.
Fleming Agri-Products Ltd, based in New Buildings, Londonderry has announced a new £1 million expansion plan that is set to create 20 new jobs and Castle Glass in Castlederg will create six new jobs.
Fleming Agri-Products are adding a 15,000 sq ft extension to the company’s factory facility, doubling the size of its existing site.
George Fleming, Managing Director of Fleming Agri-Products said: “This project has strong strategic value for the company as a whole, by diversifying into new product lines we are laying the foundations for future business growth and continued stability.
“The expansion will allow us to significantly increase our current workforce from 48 to 68, help us to develop our existing customer base and expand exports to new markets in Europe and further afield.”
Meanwhile, Castlederg company, Castle Glass, is to expand its local operations with the creation of six new jobs.
The glazing company said it had identified a gap in the niche decorative glass market, and is gearing up to significantly increase its volume of business in this area.
Managing director, David McMahon said: “Decorative glass is becoming a significant feature in the contract marketplace for hotels, pubs and churches as well as in the domestic housing market.
“We believe that developing this area of our production will be the key driver for business growth and will differentiate Castle Glass from traditional glazing businesses.”
With support from Invest NI the company says it will raise its profile outside Northern Ireland by participating in key export trade shows and developing a web presence.
Castle Glass also hopes to significantly increase its market share in the Republic of Ireland over the next few years.
